It’s up in the air, where we’re going.
Wild Pokemon Approaches?!?!?
With a Fifth Generation of Pokemon Games coming, I decided to point out where the 4th generations Pokemon failed to become a staple in the older fan’s view of the Pokemon World.
To start I would like to point out that images will be lacking at first, however I should have them all up by the next blog post. I seem to have lost track of time…at least you got the first half…
The three starters are common place, I can’t critique them for being like all the other games because that’s their defining feature. However, I will mock their appearances.

387-389. Turtwig, Grotle, Torterra
I oddly enough don’t hate Turtwig’s forms, they fit the grass type starter if a bit reminiscent of Bulbasuar.

390-392. Chimchar, Monferno, Infernape
It’s a fire monkey that goes from having poop on it’s head to having it’s tail flame burn away the shit.

393-395. Piplup, Prinplup, Empoleon
If it had forms more fitting to it’s final form I’d be okay, but 36 levels is too long to look at the first two forms.
For the rest, depending on the variables, I will include the sprites of the referenced Pokemon to aid in understanding. The order will be specified either by the comments or actually given to avoid confusion to non-Pokemon lookers.
VS.
396-398. Starly, Staravia, Staraptor
Pidgey Clone, nothing really special about it except for it’s final emo-hair.
VS.
VS.
399-400. Bidoof, Bibarel
Technically a Zigzagoon Clone, although some would consider Zigzagoon the Raccoon replacement to Rattata…lamer though.
VS.
VS.
401-402. Kricketot, Kricketune
Cricket version of the Spinarak spider and the Ladybug Ledyba.
VS.
403-405. Shinx, Luxio, Luxray
This one is a bit tougher, because I like this one but, I’d have to say it’s an Electric version of Houndour, with an extra evolution.

406-407. Budew, Roserade
I’ll include the base Pokemon for Babies and new Evolutions, but otherwise they are literally just new evolutions to old Pokemon.
VS.
VS.
408-409. Cranidos, Rampardos
The only good Fossil is a Generation One fossil. Order of the images being Generation: 4, 1/2, 3
VS.
VS.
410-411. Shieldon, Bastiodon
The only good Fossil is a Generation One fossil. Order of the images being Generation: 4, 1/2, 3
412-414. Burmy, Wormadam, Mothim
A stretch, but I consider this to be the Caterpie of Diamond, Pearl, Platinum. With two forms and gender debates.
415-416. Combee, Vespiquen
Where Burmy is Caterpie, Combee is Weedle. Only with gender exclusive evolution.
417. Pachirisu
Pikachu Clone with only one form.
418-419. Buizel, Floatzel
I consider this a cross between Sentret and Marill.
420-421. Cherubi, Cherrim
Plants? I’ll go with the Oddish Family.
422-423. Shellos, Gastrodon
Seel, with location color changes.
424. Ambipom
New evolution that was not needed or appreciated.
425-426. Drifloon, Drifblim
Honestly, I consider this the most original Pokemon to come out in the 4th Generation.
427-428. Buneary, Lopunny
Think Teddiursa, but instead of it being a bear, it’s a bunny!
429-430. Mismagius, Honchkrow
Two more evolutionary additions, I don’t hate them, but they could have been cooler.
431-432. Glameow, Purugly
Skitty Clone. Except uglier, obviously.
433. Chingling
Baby Forms tend to be simple enough where I can’t hate, so just a simple baby.
434-435. Stunky, Skuntank
Snubbull as a Skunk.
436-437. Bronzor, Bronzong
A tough one, I’m going with Aron, because it starts small gets big and is a metal type.
438-440. Bonsly, Mime Jr., Happiny
Babies to old games, I don’t mind any of them really.
441. Chatot
The Farfetch’d of 4th Generation. Since you can only get it by trading random kid in the game.
442. Spiritomb
Another oddly original to me, but still retarded with the meet 32 people underground/only one catch hassle.
443-445. Gible, Gabite, Garchomp
Dratini as a “Land Shark Pokemon.”
446. Munchlax
BEST BABY EVER!
447-448. Riolu, Lucario
I know the image won’t help, but this is the Togepi of 4th Generation, why? You hatch a single one egg exclusive from the game, only one, and other Togepi story relations.
449-450. Hippopotas, Hippowdon
Numel with a stupid hippo version.
451-452. Skorupi, Drapion
Pinsir and Ditto had a baby, that was more than a Pinsir.
453-454. Croagunk, Toxicroak
A rather cool, poison version of Mankey.
455. Carnivine
Plant? Single evolution version of the Bellsprout family.
456-457. Finneon, Lumineon
Fish? A pretty version of Barboach.
458. Mantyke
2nd Favorite Baby.
459-460. Snover, Abomasnow
Plant version of Swinub
461-464. Weavile, Magnezone, Lickilicky, Rhyperior
NEW EVOLUTIONS!!!!!! Weavile is the only one worth caring about, The other three should not exist.
465-469. Tangrowth, Electivire, Magmortar, Togekiss, Yanmega
Technically the better chunk of evolutions, Yanmega is the only kick ass one, but they aren’t horrible…just not all that good.
470-471. Leafeon, Glaceon
Two new Eevee evolutions. I like them overall.
472-475. Gliscor, Mamoswine, Porygon-Z, Gallade
MORE NEW EVOLUTIONS!!!!! These are my favorites overall, minus Porygon-Z, that’s just stupid.
476-478. Probopass, Dusknoir, Froslass
EVEN MORE NEW EVOLUTIONS!!!!!! Froslass is my absolute favorite new evolution, the other two aren’t bad.
479. Rotom
Electric ghost who can change forms in Platinum, sucks if you don’t have Platinum…or the event item to change him…Otherwise not bad.
480-482. Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf
The three legendary Birds/Dogs/Regis of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
483-484. Dialga, Palkia
The Lugia/Ho-Oh or Groudon/Kyogre of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
485. Heatran
Bonus new legendary…of no importance.
486. Regigigas
The Regi-forms Normal brother?
487. Giratina
The Rayquaza/Third game title legendary of Platinum.
488-491. Cresselia, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai
Cresselia is the only one of these obtainable without playing Ranger or getting a Nintendo event item. Manaphy is the Mew/Celebi/Jirachi of the Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
492-493. Shaymin, Arceus
CRAZY BONUS LEGENDARIES ONLY OBTAINABLE THROUGH CHEATING OR EVENT ITEMS!
Final Verdict: 15/106 of the Pokemon in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum are worth caring about, the rest are either lame as hell or only obtainable through Nintendo event!
Technically I’ll go 15-30 depending on the reasoning and including some of the event Pokemon…
